Meet Our Minister
Rev. Lynn McKinnon is the new minister for Olds United and Knox United in Didsbury. She was born and raised in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and has served churches in Cape Breton, PEI, and Alberta. Lynn was also a teacher and involved in the music community in Cape Breton before pursuing her calling to ministry. Her Celtic roots are strong, and though she misses the ocean, she is embracing the beauty of the mountains and auroras of her new home.
Staying Connected If you would like to talk to our Minister, please call the church. Let us all continue to keep doing our best to stay connected while caring for one another in whatever ways possible. May we be reminded that we are not alone in the days ahead.
Remember that the expenses of church operation continue. Please prayerfully consider maintaining your on-going support of the church in this time.
Daily Scripture Reading
Heb 4:12 - For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Financial Contributions
Dear People of Olds United Church - Are you on PAR (Pre-Authorized Remittance)? If you already pay bills, taxes, or your mortgage with automatic withdrawals from your bank account, then you've got the PAR principle. Monthly PAR (Pre-Authorized Remittance) offerings are an exceptional expression of commitment and allows you to support Olds United Church through automatic monthly withdrawals from your bank account.
Besides being convenient, using PAR for your offering ensures regular monthly givings to help our Church's ministry and increasing our overall financial stability, even while you are away. You can also include a regular Mission & Service gift at the same time. Why not participate in PAR? Here's how ...
Prayerfully decide how much you want to give each month.
Fill out a PAR Authorization Form with a cheque marked "VOID".
Enclose both in an envelope and place on the offering plate, or leave at the church office.
We send this information to the United Church's national office, who instructs your bank to automatically withdraw your gift around the 20th of each month.
You can increase, decrease, or cancel your contribution at any time. To learn more, please call the church office at (403) 556-3052, The United Church of Canada at 1-800-268-3781, or visit united-church.ca. Thank you!
